The only surviving remnant of a medieval church
This impressive tower has a Norman doorway, with carvings of foliage and grotesque faces from the old church of St Lawrence, re-erected here when that church was demolished. An attractive parapet was added to the top of the tower in the fifteenth century but removed during the twentieth.
