Norfolk: Feltwell
Discover the River Little Ouse on the edge of the Fens.
A scenic circular walk starting and finishing in Feltwell which is a village on the edge of the Fens with two churches. The walk takes you alongside and across the River Little Ouse which is a tributary of the River Great Ouse and for much of its length defines the boundary between Norfolk and Suffolk.
St Nicholas has a massive Norman tower arch which emphasises the church’s early foundations. The chancel was demolished in 1862 and the west tower collapsed during repairs in 1898. This makes the church look like a meeting house and is enhanced by the light pouring through the clear glass windows.
This 4.2 mile walk takes approximately 1 hour and is correct as of time of publication. Please let us know if you have any difficulties.
